How our consignment store works

  • A female mannequin wearing a grey sweater, jeans, and a red winter scarf.

We make it our goal to help you get “the most bang for your buck” when you entrust us with your items, so we’ve provided some reference below on how to make the most profit with our store. However, due to limited space and a very large number of active consignors, we may have to limit even some of our best-selling items at times. As Bonners Ferry’s premier consignment shop since 2010, we know our market better than anyone, so please understand that if your items are turned away but are still in good condition, it does not mean your items are not of value. It simply means that those items are not premier sellers for our market, or we have too large of an inventory-to-sales ratio at that time. We appreciate your understanding! We hope you enjoy shopping and consigning with us, and thank you for your support of our small family business!

Consignment Rules
Call First: Please call ahead or message us before bringing in consignments. There are times that we have to stop intake due to overstock or season change, so please call ahead. Consignment schedule is weather and inventory-dependent, and is subject to change. Clean First: Clothing and shoe items must be clean and stain-free, with no rips, hair, or excessive wear. Toys/equipment must be clean and in working order, with working batteries. If we have to clean your items or supply batteries, a $5 fee will be charged to your account.
Keep to the Limit: All clothing, shoe, toy, & homeschool items MUST fit into our 12-gallon totes with the lid closed. (Same as a kitchen-size trash bag.) Limit does not apply to snow gear such as snowbibs and snowpants, baby equipment like strollers, bouncers, or other large items.

What We Take for Consignment
Baby Clothing 0-12months: Will be bought outright by store at 20% of selling price and credited to consignor’s account. Quantity of baby items taken per consignor is subject to change due to current inventory. Items we choose not to take will be donated to local charities.
Children’ Items: We will take all children’s items as long as they fit into the tote. Any items deemed “no thank you” when we sort them will be donated to local charities. If you’d like your children or baby no-thank-you items back, please let us know upon dropoff so we may sort and return them to you right away.
Women’s Items: Items will be sorted by our staff upon dropoff, and anything deemed a “no thank you” for quality or inventory purposes will be returned to you right away. Please enjoy shopping while we sort your items! Please note that we have a 3-step process in filtering your items, and sometimes blemishes are found on step 2 or 3, after the initial sort/return. If blemishes are found on step 2 or 3, the item will be donated.
Men’s Items: Due to our extremely limited space and limited customer demand, our men’s items are taken at store discretion only. We will ONLY take men’s items occasionally, as needed for our sales market.
Books/Homeschool curriculum: Books must be educational in nature, in very good condition, and no more than ten years old.

Our store sets prices, and you will receive your choice of 40% cash payment or 50% in-store credit of the selling price of each item after it sells, excluding taxes and fees. Items may be discounted for sales and seasonal changes at store discretion. Items not sold after 90 days will be donated or bought outright by the store. We work hard to take care of your items, but we are not responsible for damage or loss. Stop in any time during business hours to pick up your payment or use your store credit! Any pay or store credit left for 12 months will be dissolved.
